The 90% Emissions Reduction Project
When I get my act together I’ll set up this page so I can track my progress in all the categories:
1. Petrol

**So I still haven’t got my act together on this page - more than a year after the riot started! The goal was to reduce our carbon emissions by 90% (i.e. to 10%) of the emissions an average American family produces in a year. After a year we are about 60-75% across all categories (by loose calculations). Some things have been easy, some hard. Mostly progress has been slow but as I’ve always wanted the whole family to reduce their emissions, not just me, I knew it would take us longer to get there.
Not surprisingly, my focus this year is on the food category because I believe that if I can get this sorted (by growing food) then everything else should just fall into place.
The original riot was to be a year but there’s no reason to stop now. Anyone can join, anytime. The yahoo group has been an ongoing source of information and inspiration but probably the best place for information on the Riot for Austerity 90% emissions reduction project is the Riot Website.
